Scope of these Terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to childcare services coordinated by Peekaboo where Peekaboo acts as an intermediary and payment is made to Peekaboo. This includes: • Occasional babysitting • Short-term or temporary childcare • Hotel or travel babysitting • Fixed weekly nanny support that is not an employment placement • Backup or emergency childcare These Terms do not apply to full-time nanny placements where the caregiver is hired and paid directly by the family under a separate arrangement. Our role Peekaboo is a childcare coordination and matching service. We connect families with carefully selected caregivers based on availability, experience, and the family’s needs. Peekaboo does not provide childcare directly. All childcare services are carried out by independent caregivers. Peekaboo is not the employer of caregivers providing the services covered by these Terms. Responsibility and liability Peekaboo acts solely as an intermediary between families and caregivers. Peekaboo is not responsible for: • the actions or omissions of caregivers • the quality of care provided • accidents, injuries, illness, loss or damage occurring during childcare • disputes between families and caregivers Families retain full responsibility for their child during the period of care. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by law. Communication and support If any issue arises before, during, or after a booking, families are asked to inform Peekaboo as soon as possible so that we can assist where appropriate. While Peekaboo does not provide the childcare itself, we aim to support clear communication and practical resolution when needed. |
Selection and screening of caregivers
Peekaboo takes care to work with caregivers who meet our internal selection criteria, which includes experience, interviews, and references. Families remain responsible for assessing whether a caregiver is suitable for their child and situation. We encourage open communication between families and caregivers and ask that any concerns are shared promptly. Payments For the services covered by these Terms, payment is made to Peekaboo, not directly to the caregiver. Depending on the type of service and the booking arrangement, payment may be: • requested in advance, or • settled after the service has taken place Payment terms will always be communicated clearly before confirmation of the booking. Cancellations and changes We understand that family schedules can change and we aim to be as flexible as possible.• Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time will not be charged. • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged a minimum of two hours of service, to cover confirmed caregiver availability. Changes to bookings are subject to caregiver availability and should be communicated as early as possible. Confidentiality and data protection Peekaboo treats personal data with care and processes information only for the purpose of coordinating childcare services, in accordance with applicable data protection regulations. Acceptance of Terms By confirming a booking with Peekaboo, whether by email, WhatsApp, or other written communication, families confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions. |
